FAQs
How does BioArmor work?
BioArmor depends on a symbiotic relationship that far outdates humans and is over 400 million years old. Working cooperatively, plants and fungi have more capably survived, benefited and thrived than existing as individuals. When signaled by plants, the naturally occurring, beneficial fungi in BioArmor, enters through roots, shoots and leaves. From there, BioArmor helps plants sequester water and nutrients more efficiently as well as making the plants more stress tolerant.
What are the ways I can apply BioArmor?
There are two ways to apply BioArmor: (1) Sprinkling a spoonful around the base of the plant and then watering until the BioArmor is no longer visible. (2) Adding a spoonful of BioArmor straight into a seed packet, shaking until coated, and planting. Easy!
Where does BioArmor fungi reside within the plant?
BioArmor microbes inhabit the roots, stems and leaves of plants. They do not occupy the flower, fruit, seed and/or tuber of their host plants.
Does BioArmor live in the soil?
Soil studies have shown that BioArmor can be active in soils for up to two weeks. The primary habitat of these fungal endophytes are inside plants.
Can BioArmor be used with fungicides and pesticides?
BioArmor is a living microbial product and timing is everything when it comes to using any sort of biocide. Our research has shown that once BioArmor is inside the plant, you can apply any biocide (that doesn’t harm the plant) without altering the effectiveness of BioArmor. Our suggestion is to wait at least 2 days after your treatment of BioArmor to use any biocides.
Can BioArmor be used with fertilizer?
Just like with fungicides and pesticides, timing matters when applying fertilizers too. To protect your symbiotic fungi, we recommend waiting at least 2 days between any treatment of BioArmor and fertilizers.
Can BioArmor be applied in water?
At this point, the organic talc in BioArmor does not fully dissolve in water and cannot be applied in a liquid application. We are actively developing beneficial microbial products specifically for liquid treatments.
